PCB design is a complex task with many rules, but there are some commonly used design rules that can be mastered to do the job well. Below, let the engineer explain in detail the commonly used PCB circuit board design rules for you:
1. 3W rule
The 3W rule is that the distance between lines must be maintained at 3 times the line width, which is the usual 3H; H refers to the width between lines. When the theoretical line center distance is 3 times the line width, 70% of the line to line electric field can be maintained without interference, which is commonly known as the 3W rule.
2. Rules for component layout
The layout of components is very important and directly affects the performance of the product. The sorting must be meticulous, specifically divided into the following points:
Firstly, the schematic diagram is the foundation. The schematic diagram must repeatedly consider the optimization design, following the rule of "big before small, difficult before easy". Important units and core electronic components should be limited in layout.
Secondly, it is necessary to reserve debugging positions for small components, and circuits with the same structure and similar structures should be distributed symmetrically and evenly as much as possible.
Thirdly, attention should be paid to the issue of direction. Electronic components of the same type should be designed and arranged in the X-axis or Y-direction. For special components, especially heating components, they should be finely distributed and evenly arranged.
Fourthly, the layout should ensure that the connecting lines are as short as possible and the key signal lines are as short as possible.
